Dayton Parrotheads to Host 1st Annual Alex's Lemonade Stand at The Greene

2finsup writes "
The Dayton Area Parrotheads will host their 1st Annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand as part of the National Lemonade Days weekend on Saturday, June 7, 2008 from 12pm-6pm, and Sunday, June 8, 2008 from 1pm-4pm at The Grenne Town Square in Beavercreek, Ohio.
More than just a Jimmy Buffett fan club, Dayton Area Parrotheads is a non-profit organization dedicated to “leaving the world better than they found it and have a blast doing it”. In accordance with that philosophy, Dayton Parrotheads chose to become involved with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation after Kennedy, the daughter of one of their Parrothead’s lifelong friends, was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer).
As seen on CBS Early Show, Lemonade Days is a three day national event that grew out of Alexandra “Alex” Scott’s front yard lemonade stand, and is held every year over the same June weekend. During Lemonade Days, dedicated volunteers host thousands of Alex's Lemonade Stands across the country, raising over $1 million for childhood cancer research in one weekend. June 2008 will mark the 5th Annual Lemonade Days with an estimated 10,000 volunteers at over 2,000 Alex’s Lemonade Stands around the nation. Lemonade Days 2008 is set for June 6th, 7th and 8th. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $18 million towards fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure for all childhood cancer, funding over 50 research projects nationally.
